Stephen Ireland started turning out for the side in preseason this summer through good friend and present team player Blake Norton, and the former Republic of Ireland player then asked other former professionals, who all play in a midweek nine-a-side game, to participate.

"It's a little unusual but then, I love running and just go forward - I'm not staying back that much," he added.

"I warn my defender 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to continue running.

"That movement is what I'm seeking. It's good fun."

In addition to the forward's six goals on his first game, Stephen Ireland has scored eight in 3 appearances for the side, while Boyd scored 5 on his debut match and Lescott, a defender by position, notched a hat-trick in one game up front.
